Englewood Utilities requires commercial and multifamily properties to test their backflow prevention assemblies annually and submit certification by August 15. This is an Englewood requirement, not a new statewide Colorado deadline.
Who the Deadline Covers
The requirement applies to backflow assemblies at Englewood commercial and multifamily properties. Owners and managers should confirm that every device is accessible and that the property address, device information and prior test report are ready for the certified tester.
What Happens After Testing
A certified tester completes the annual test and uploads the report through BSI Online. If an assembly fails, repair and retesting may be needed before certification can be completed.
Schedule Before August 15
August 15 falls on a Saturday in 2026, so scheduling early leaves time for building access, repairs, retesting and report submission. Englewood accepts extension requests at backflow@englewoodco.gov, but submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
