Castle Pines Village Metropolitan District requires every home to have its fire-suppression backflow prevention device tested annually. A permanently plumbed pool or hot-tub backflow device also requires annual testing. The District says irrigation devices generally are not included in this residential testing requirement.
2026 credit: Through July 31, 2026, the District is offering a $100 utility credit for each qualifying device that passes, up to two devices or $200 per account. Annual compliance continues after the temporary credit ends.

How the 2026 Utility Credit Works
A qualifying device must pass its test by July 31, 2026. After the certified tester submits a passing result through BSI Online and the District verifies it, the credit is applied automatically to the utility account. The District describes the benefit as $100 per passing device, with a maximum of two devices and $200 per account.
A failed device must be repaired and pass a retest before it can qualify. Testing, repair and retesting charges remain the property owner's responsibility, so scheduling early is important if a device needs corrective work.
